Mr. Shashi Bhattarai

Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and
Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

Mr. Bhattarai is CEO of Development Dynamics Pvt. Ltd. and Consultant to infoDev, The World Bank for Feasibility Study, Policy support, Capacity building under Nepal Business Incubator project. Earlier Mr. Bhattarai served as Chief of the Special Projects and Coordination Branch at the Nepal Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), also headed the South Asian Development Fund (SADF) Secretariat and IT Branch at NIDC. Mr. Bhattarai has experiences with a wide range of private and public sector project identification studies, feasibility studies, business planning, appraisals and financing. His twenty plus years of experience includes execution of projects financed by local consortia of financial institutions as well as those supported by bilateral, multilateral and international agencies.

Mr. Bhattarai specializes in Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and is involved (2005 – 2007) in Specific Targeted Research Project under European Commission Sixth Framework Programme, Multi country Project DIM-SUM (Innovative Decision Making for Sustainable Water Management in Developing Countries) as Decision Support Expert. Mr. Bhattarai is also member of International Scientific / Organizing Committee for International Symposium on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (ISAHP) 2005 Hawaii, ISAHP 2007 Chile, ISAHP 2009 Pittsburgh and ISAHP 2011 Naples, Italy (www.isahp.org).

Mr. Bhattarai has received the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) award and the UNDP fellowship, as well as performance recognition award and letters of appreciation from NIDC. Mr. Bhattarai is currently co-chairing Technical Committee of Nepal Engineers Association (NEA), earlier served as co-chair of ICT committee at NEA. Mr. Bhattarai holds Bachelors of Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee and Masters in Engineering, majoring Planning and Management form Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
